I'm about to start the Legal Practice Course (LPC) with a view to working for the Crown Prosecution Service. Does anyone know what their version of our CPS is in Australia and New Zealand? Would I have to do any sort of conversion course or will qualifications gained here be compatible?

An ex-colleague of mine who is a UK qualified solicitor now works in Australia in private practice. She did not need to take any form of official transfer qualification as a condition of being hired or being able to practice in Oz. However, she is now taking the Oz lawyers' transfer test, but this is requirement her firm are imposing on her rather than being a legal requirment. This doesn't quite answer your question, but I'd have thought that NZ requirements would be similar. There are lots of London based legal recruitment agenices that specialise in placing UK lawyers abroad, so have a google and give them a call for advice.

Thank you both for your answers. Apparently their version of the CPS is The Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
