I work in an office team of about fifteen people, mixed ages, and of both sexes.

We have been allocated the sum of 15.00 per person by management, but have to come up with team building ideas.

Any ideas please, original or otherwise?

I went on a team building thing a bit back where each team had to build (with tightly wound newspapers) parts of a hugh 'mouse trap' type contraption. Each team of about 3 or 4 was given instructions for their section and then at the end all the parts were fitted together and a football rolled along it. The idea was to get each section of our department to work together yada yada. It did look good when it was finished and the ball didn't get stuck once!
On the first Thursday of every month we have a 'meals around the world day'. As a group we agree which continent/country we will 'theme' the meal on (Chinese / Italian / French/ Greek etc) and then everyone is tasked with providing a part of the meal and evryone has a budget for their expenses. In this way we have to coordinate what elements are coming from which member to avoid duplicates and a coordinator is 'volunteered' to oversee this task each month. The bottom line is we have a great meal at lunchtime once a month together. From a distance you will also observe who does the most / least, who is imaginative, who is a strong organiser etc etc. Fun but very revealing!
You should try strictly conference dancing at www.confpeople.co.uk.

You spend the day learning new dancing such as Ballroom, Tango and Rumba, and in the evening is spent having dancing competitions, while your meal is served in between. It is a team building exercise that is good fun for all. There is also an open bar included.
