Benefits after car ban?

My son recently lost his job because he can no longer drive after a drink/drive ban of 20 months. He had been self employed for about 4 weeks prior to this. Is he entitled to any benefits while he seeks new work? He has no partner and pays a mortgage.

Should be entitled to Job Seekers. Not sure about any help with mortgage paymetns though.
