I have seen a job advert to work as a sales administrator for a local timber yard...although i dont have any sales admin experience. I do have office experience though and think i could do a role such as this. Also its a bit scary as its on the website of a local paper so the ad only gives a few details then says to phone up for more. Should i phone about it, i hate doing phone calls! easier just to email info.

You really should phone if you want a job - shows you care. In my experience, an admin job is an admin job - as long as you can email, use the fax machine etc I'm sure they'd be lucky to have you :-)

ok thanks you. I will try and ring them tommorow....I dunno though i am a bit indecisive at the mo about what i want or feel able to do. ive been very depressed for a few years but since i finished uni last year and have not got a "proper job" i have become increasingly frustrated and down.

I am thinking about going to a careers advisor but maybe i just need to do a few more months voluntary admin work then in a better position to apply for admin jobs?

oh btw in a boring shop job at the mo.
you should make a phone call and according what they say follow up with an email. knowledge of computer and good phone etiquette is important.
If you've got a degree you can definately do admin work - I only graduated last year from uni, but was doing admin jobs from when I was 18 before I even started uni! They're great as not too much responsibility, but you get to know how an office works and things... plus it's decent money, better than shop work which I've done plenty of as well trust me.

The other summer I was temping at 10 an hour and had more than enough time to apply for jobs online etc because it wasn't too hard.
