selling alcohol at a members club

i have been told that it is legal for a 16 yr old to serve alcohol in a members aslong as thye are supervised by an over 18 also working behind the bar. is this true?

Nearly. It is an offence for an under 18 to supply alcohol to, or to the order of, a club member in a members club (operating under a Club Premises Certificate rather than a Premises Licence) unless they are authorised to do so by any member or officer of the club present on the premises in a capacity which enables him to prevent the supply in question. (section 153 of the Licensing Act 2003).
