I take it you have tried the usual, bars, restaurants, tescos, students union bar, high street shops?

Do you get a local paper delivered? Keep checking there for vacancies

A few seconds Googling found these.

I'm sure there's plenty more where that came from. No offence mate but if you struggle to find PT work in Manchester then good luck for when you graduate.

I don't know Manchester, but maybe you could try somewhere on the outskirts of the city.

I looked for many jobs where I live, and finally found one in a golf club just out of town. They can normally offer lots of different types of jobs. The one I worked in had a gym, bar, creche, kitchen, reception, and of course greens to look after.

Maybe something like this would be good for you, as they tend to get busier during the warmer months and need more staff

Maybe try tutoring high school kids in something you have good qualification like maths or english

All of the universities in Manchester have their own Jobshops, via the student union at Manchester Met, called STEAM, or the university's careers service at Manchester and Salford (find it via your university Intranet). Also there is North West Student and Graduate Online / NWSAGO, online at www.nwsago.co.uk where there are advertisements for lots of work experience opportunites, such as placements, part time work. The Manchester Evening News on a Thursday advertises jobs. If you want something related to your course, not just a "desperate for cash so I'll do anything type job", visit your careers service and have a chat to an advisor, or go to NWSAGO and have a search. Manchester is pretty good for work though, so maybe you've just been looking in the wrong places. Uni jobshops will have work that is often tailored for student timetables so that should be your first port of call!
