I have an interview for a university lecturer's post in adult nursing. What 'hot topics' do I need to swat up on? Many thanks.

Thanks for that supportive answer gammaray. I have ideas of my own, but I thought the principle of the answerbank was to share experiences and skills.
My pleasure..!

Fortunately you are not typical of most answerbank users.I hope you have the same encouraging response when you need advice.
Thanks for your concern. Typical ABers must be having a day off today then!
dont know much about education but hot topics in my area of nursing always seem to be : clinical supervision, various white papers, nurse prescribing, clinical governance

Many thanks kazza for that useful info
dont really know that those would apply to education though
Question Author
I was thinking along those lines for the clinical stuff, but this would be my first foray into an educational post, so i was thinking about nurse education/teaching and assessing skills too. Your info is invaluable though and I appreciate it (unlike some!)
For any job in university always mention equal oppotunities - keeping students on roll and enabling them to study whether they have children or other commmitments. Good luck.
i think you will need to swot up on all the things kazza suggested plus things about practice educstion, training and professional development. i think the aim is to know a bit about a lot. dont worry, i think it will be your personality that will encourage them more, an outgoing and confident type. good luck

Many thanks. My faith in ABers is restored.
How sad.
