Pork Meatballs Advice Please.

I'm going to make pork meatballs and spaghetti tomorrow.

Do you think it would work if I used sage and onion stuffing mix instead of breadcrumbs?

The pork meatballs with mash sounds lovely, The Winner. Thank you. I'll try that.

I often make pork meatballs with stuffing mix as it saves adding other spices etc.

I like the in a plain tomato sauce ala the belgiums

With mash and gravy is great.  Mr L adds mushrooms to the gravy.  We also eat meatballs with pasta and Mediterranean vegetables quite  a lot.

PS. My YouTube doesn't seem to be working at the moment but I'd like to look at the belgium meatballs with tomato sauce.

i never bother with breadcrumbs .. just form the mince into balls, put on an oven tray and cook for 10 mins, then take them out and fry them with veg an sauce

I don't use either...only because I don't eat wheat.

Instead, I throw in a handful of porridge oats. Add 1 egg, a good amount of freshly ground black pepper, basil, oregano, a few squirts of tomato paste, a bit of chilli if you like spice, finely minced onion, 1-2 cloves of garlic. Don't make tiny meatballs like so many recipes recommend. Mine are usually about 65g. I pan fry them, then into the slow cooker with my sauce.

Thank you, Bednobs and Pasta. I like the idea of putting them in the oven and then cooking them in the sauce. I am not a fan of frying things.

I think the stuffing idea would be great. And I'd serve them with a creamy mustard sauce, mash, and cranberry sauce, a bit like Swedish meatballs.

Don't use stuffing mix as it has a most unpleasant artificial taste of dried herbs.

I cook a little Tills and have made meatballs in the past. It is hardly worth it. Devil of a job, messy and difficult to judge seasonings for taste because you are dealing with raw meat. M&S do a lovely pack of raw meatballs that are great with a bolognese and can be added to a gravy for mash. They also do a cracking meatloaf. I chuck the tomato sauce sachet away and do that with mash and gravy.
