I have just started a new job but found another one closer to home that I want to apply for. Do I put it on my cv if I have been there 2 weeks?

Abbey, the person in the same position as you has probably been there a while...maybe a long while. And while they are not your boss, they have the knowledge and experience to guide you. Stick with it. You'll not do yourself any favours by moving again so soon.

Oh dear, Abbey - thought you were enjoying the dental receptionist experience! What post are you applying for now?
Question Author
I do like it but there's one in another dentist up the road from me
Oh heck
You should but TBH you will give a really bad impression of not being able to stick at a job. Unless there is a major issue where you are eg, job not being as advertised you should consider staying put for a minimum of a year. Would you appoint someone who was only in a job for two weeks, or course not,you would see it as a potential waste of resources.
Seriously? Anyway no don't put it on your CV.
Agree with Rowan
Abbey, you are changing jobs rather frequently. This does not look good when possible employers consider you.
If you put your current job on, then it is likely that the potential employer would contact them to ask why you are leaving so soon. If you don't - then they might contact your last employer and discover that you've left and haven't told your current employer that you are job-seeking.
Unless your current job is really horrible, then you would be best to stay where you are for a while - at least 6 months - i.m.o..

Just tell them I'm still at mcdonalds?
I agree with rowan - try and establish a solid employment history proving that you are a reliable investment. Recruiting new staff is expensive in time and money for any business and you will be presenting yourself as a risk.
No I wouldn’t tell them you are at McDonald’s.
I would stick with your current employer
And if they catch you out in a lie about still being at McDonald's what will they think?
18.16/ What happens when they contact Mac for a reference and they tell them you left weeks ago?
abbey, as soon as you hand over your P45 should you get the job you'll be caught out as a liar, it will show the date you left McDonalds.
What is your actual commute time to the current dentists and how do you get there?
Question Author
2 buses to my current job and to one I applied for 20 mins up the road
If you're enjoying your present post, stay there. The new one might not be as enjoyable.
OK but 20 minutes up the road how walking, one bus, 2 buses?
I am asking because you are suggesting it's just the distance that's making you want to change.
There's nothing to say you would get the new job so stay where you are
Question Author
Of course I wouldn't leave until I got new job. The team are nice just wish we all went out no more and someone same position as me didn't act like my boss
There seems to be a gulf between the idea that employers are checking back on all previous jobs and reality.

References too tend to be anodyne and very, very basic these days due to privacy rules and the possibility of disgruntled punters threatening legal action for a bad one.
