Hi, I was a carer for my father for a long time now that he has passed away i need to claim jsa, while caring for my father I started to have problems with my back and eventully I couldnt cope with the lifting him and had to get carers in to help, my back is still causing me problems would the job centre make me accept a job as a carer, I am frightening because I know that my back wont cope with lifting, I am not work shy but need a job that is less physical.

hi poppy, sorry to hear about your dad. I wouldn't worry about being 'forced' into any job. (not for a couple of years, anyway)
when you go for your first interview at the job-centre you can discuss work options, and any worries you have, with an adviser. they may advise you to apply for sickness benefit but they certainly wont force you into a job you'd struggle to do. good luck.
