Thanks for the alert MargeB- just flicked news on now
It certainly looks suspicious- I'm going to wait for more news though before I go getting all worried. At the moment all people have seen is smoke.
Just turned on news too.  They say there was explosion.
According to to the Popbitch board it's a hoax, albeit one with realsitic effects:

If it is a hoax I hope they find who is responsible
I nail bomb and several detonators went off, the bus had its windows blown out but it doesn't look like anyone was hurt?
What does it mean if they were blasts using detonators only? Was someone trying to have a (very sick and twisted) laugh?
Is this quite the right forum for speculation in such a tense area ?
Its not a hoax. Popbitch is full of S**t most of the time.

www.bbc.co.uk/news - as milly said, popbitch is not reliable.  The bbc is.

Detonaters only can still have a serious impact.  Even if it (thankfully) doesn't appear to have killed anyone, it's obviously causing much disruption again.

mfewell - could you please suggest a better forum for speculation.  It's human nature to wonder about these things, and we're only human after all.  ABers in this thread are only showing concern and trying to provide reassurance or accurate news information.  What's the harm in that?

Met Commissioner now saying 'Londoners, stay where you are.'

I wonder if I'll still be able to go down on Sunday.  I REALLY REALLY hope so.  I do NOT want to let some horrible terrorists ruin my chance at an amazing career.  :-(

Obviously, and more importantly, I also hope that everyone in London remains safe.  :-)

Police say 4 attempts at explosions - 3 tube stations and 1 bus.  Smaller bombs, casualties low.  transport system closed for a short while.
Yes I think much better to get something like LBC on the radio and sit quietly and wait for the facts to emerge, and of course hope that it's not as bad as it might be. That's what we all did on 9/11 and 7/7.

It's pretty strange, to be honest. Al Queda? Why use detonators only. Copy catters? Why bother.

Maybe Al Q have realized bombs p*ss people off away from their cause, but disruption just p*sses people off enough for 'popular change'.

I work on Euston Road where it is all happening.  Not nice.

They just arrested some guy outside the MOD. Some guy was running from the tube, too.
People have been arrested.
The police are doing a great job.

We now turn to acw, our reporter in central London. "Acw...

Been watching Sky News on & off. So glad they've caught the bloke running away Marge.

Having said, if he's found guilty of anything sinister, he'll probably only get his knuckles rapped & sent on his way!
