Can anyone tell me if you can clain job seekers allowance if your doing more then 24 hours a week in a unpaid job.
Can your claim be affected in anyway.

I am seeking a paid job so would that help me.

Dont really know much about the Dos and Donts with the benefits system.

The work has to be with a charity ~ have a read through this link and see if it answers your questions

Thank you that did anwser my questions :-)
The work does NOT need to be for a charity, it can be for anyone or any employer as long as it is not for family. Something else that would be considered is whether it would be reasonable to expect to be paid (apart from expenses) for the work being carried out. There is also the question of availability for other employment whilst volunteering but both matters can be referred to Decision Maker for a determination.
