Suspension, Grievance And Missing Statements.

I was suspended from work last week pending an investigation. When the statements and paperwork arrived I was horrified as they contradict each other and there was no proof of what I was being accused of. In response I put in a grievance. When I contacted the company to see if the grievance had been received I was informed it had been and there were missing statements from the paperwork I received regarding my suspension. I was told that they would be sent to me in the post. Surely they can't do this as there is no proof of date etc? This could have been created in direct response to my grievance? Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks.

But if they had sent them to you in the post earlier, they could also be complete fiction.......
Sorry, I don't understand this. Maybe it's better to waste until the promised items are received in the post. I don't know what you said in your grievance but maybe that made them realise they had omitted some papers.

I'm not sure of the advantages of submitting a grievance while a matter is still being investigated
FF It always made me wonder what the grievor was trying to pre empt.....but I am sure that I would be misjudging the OP in this case and also we were always rigidly open and just our disciplinary precesses which i know isn't the same everywhere.
Sorry, gemstar- my second sentence should have said WAIT not WASTE: "Maybe it's better to wait until the promised items are received in the post "

Basically I've already received the paperwork/statements etc regarding my suspension. I put in a grievance since receiving this paperwork, now they are saying didn't receive all the statements and they will be sent to me. My point is surely they can't add 'missing' paperwork?
I know it would have been much better to get all the information in one go but if some was omitted either by accident or because it wasn't known to be available initially, but if there's an investigation taking place isn't it better that all parties have all the relevant papers now?
why not? The statements might not have been made yet or written up yet, or they might have been misfiled, or simply accidentally not included in the pack that was sent to you. I am not sure how, from what you have told us, the date that the statement was taken would have any reflection on its validity, especially if you were only suspended a week ago.
sorry FF the answer was to the Op, and not you.
can you say what the basis for your grievance is?
Should have said:
I know it would have been much better to get all the information in one go but, if some was omitted either by accident or because it wasn't known to be available initially, isn't it better that all parties involved in the investigation have all the relevant papers now?
FF I think that you and I are singing from the same hymn sheet.
You are questioning the honesty of the employer but could they not say the same about you? You raised a grievance ONLY in response to what had been said about you, why was it not raised prior to your being suspended?
