...I'm starting a new job next month. How long would I have to be working there before I'm entitled to maternity leave/benefits?

you usually have to be working there on the day you get pregnan i think

But it may depend on the employer's ts and Cs as to whether you get the statutory minimum maternity pay for some of the perid or a more generous employer's scheme
