The CD deck on my Sony hi-fi stack has gone kaput and its feed into the amplifier is optical, which means that I can't use CD decks or players with normal outputs. Is there an adaptor I could use?

It would be easier to get another CD play with an optical out.

Or a cheaper one second hand (this actually looks a really good deal)

Thanks, ChuckFickens. Helpful as always.
If your amplifier has an Aux, Tape, Tuner or other line level inputs (other than phono inputs which typically have specialised circuitry) these will work for most any CD deck with line out jacks.
