Teaching qualifications still valid?

I qualified as a nursery/ infant teacher in 1977 and taught until 1990. I have not taught since then. Are my qualifications still valid because I am considering a part time appontment at a private nursery.

Was it along the lines of an NNEB? That would still be valid. Have a chat with the nursery manager. Even if your qualification is no longer recognised, many nurseries prefer experience to qualifications anyway. You could always do an NVQ as you work if you needed to.

You will have a General Teaching Council (GTC) number. This is your qualification evidence.

Yellow - your basic qual's should be fine but there might be an expectation by employers that you'll need to be topped up, for example in safeguarding awareness. By demonstrating to them that you know about these recent developments even if you haven't had the formal training, it should help your case.
