i was a stupid girl and was convicted of robbery when i was 14, im now 28 and recently applied for a job in a nursery, the crb check came back with my conviction on it! Will it ever go away? i know it stays on police file for ever but what about enhanced crb checks?

it will allways stay on your file till the day you die, allthough it is spent, convictions allways stay on your record, and it will allways show up on any crb check.
shame on u the fear u put in peoples hearts and being a girl and wanting to work with children , what is this ****** country comming to when robbers can train as nursery nurses
Another sensible, well thought out, sympathetic comment from redhead23.
I'm afraid that like so much of modern life this problem is down to a government that rushed well meant legislation through parliament without really thinking about it. The problem is that all convictions remain on PNC (the Police National Computer) indefinitely. So, although under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 you don't have to declare the conviction, the CRB blindly discloses everything on PNC. It wasn't supposed to be this way and I'm assured that it's being looked at at the highest level with a view to levelling the proverbial playing field, but I'm afraid we're stuck with it for the moment. Sorry!
Like previously said it will always be on your record but while it appears on your CRB check I shouldn't imagine this will prevent you from your training. Good luck
whats your point sascha ? you did not even comment on nikki's problem that is my opinion you do not have to like it

have u ever been robbed or mabye your business ? no i thought not
My point? I think I've made it already.

You didn't answer nikki78's question (and don't a lot of the time when posting your rants) so I hardly think you're in a position to comment either.

Yes I have been robbed thanks.
