Hi can someone please explain what "temporary ongoing" means when applying for a job? I'm assuming it's not permanent, but does this mean it is temporary and may lead to permanent? Thanks in advance

It depends - sometimes temporary jobs may lead to permanent positions.

Other times, temporary workers can be brought in for a variety of reasons. Like to cover someone on maternity leave or long term sick or to complete a specific project or task - in these cases the jobs are temporary and are unlikely to lead to anything permanent.

Best to ask at the interview what the chances are of it leading to something permanent.
Forgot to add:

I had a job last year that was 'temporary ongoing' as the I was working for needed Administrator but the future of the place I worked at was not certain and wouldn't be known for around 18 months. For that reason, they couldn't employ anyone on a permanent basis so it was 'permanently temporary' if that makes sense! I left after 6 months becasue I needed the security of a permanent position and couldn't live on the wages the agency were paying me!

Your latter answer seems to make sense as I know from past exp exactly what temporary means. So basically if a comany was possibly closing, or relocating, because of this they can't provide a specific time period. Thanks CheekyChops
