When did you put your goals above those of your team and why? what happened?

I do not have a clue what the interviewer wants to find out here. Any tips welcome.

Sounds like a leadership question, perhaps the group lacked ambition and you thiught striving for a better result was acievable with the talent you had available.

It sounds to me like you've gone for a sales/competitive job here - they often ask you questions like that.
I would answer that it wouldn't happen - ultimately you'll get the best work from working as a team. Sounds a bit cliche but when a team works really well, it's great! xx
