I have still a further 4 years left in my current career before I can start any work placement or on the job training, however I would like to start studying asap, are there any courses I can do in my spare time that will help me for the future.
Thanks

Ask your local Hospital for Volunteer work.
Also, medical courses, such as First Aid training, healthcare courses, dementia training etc. There are hundreds of them. They should also show your interest and commitment when you do apply for training.

Joining the College of Paramedics (as an Associate Member) might be worthwhile. (Follow the College link from the one above).
My daughter had a science degree and then took a two year Paramedic Diploma at Sheffield Hallam University. She got a bursary, and a lot of it was on the job training.
