You could also try cleaning the lens of the reader with a lint FREE lens cleaner. Don't use anything else, because you may scratch the lens.

Sega Surope say to send Dreamcasts for repair to the following address: Mikrolive Ltd Mikrolive House Shrivenham Hundred Business Park Watchfield near Swindon Wiltshire SN6 8TZ As your console is under a year old it will be free of charge as long as you send proof of purchase and a covering letter outlining the problem. (If anyone has a problem with a console that is over a year old the charge for repair was �34.99 in February 2002 but you should probably check the current price by emailing [email protected] or phoning 020 8995 3399. Either that or a new Dreamcast is only about �50-60 now in a lot of places, and is probably significantly better than one that's over a year old and repaired.)
