I was unfortunate enough to inherit a hammer (club) thumb just like my mum - although both of hers are huge - whereas I've only got one. When she's had false nails in the past, the staff laughed as they had to use toenails lol.

I really don't like it and am a bit self conscious about it. It also looks as though my 3 year old daughter may be on the way to having one too - poor thing.

Megan Fox also has one. So is there anyone else on here with hammer thumb/s? They're so ugly aren't they!?

Well I don't think that staff laughing n a manicure shop is nice at all if I was her I would have left and not gone back

I know it's not nice at all. All the staff were chinese and she could see they were all pointing and laughing about her thumbs. Not surprisingly, she hasn't been back!
I too have a clubbed thumb, just on the one hand.
What age did your daughter start to exhibit signs of having a clubbed thumb too? I am worried that my two and a half year old may have inhereted my mutancy, althought both thumbs currently look 'normal'.

It's only around the last few months that we've noticed her thumb looks slightly thicker. Not sure what age it would show to be honest. The thing is, there's nothing I can do about it if she gets it but I'd rather she didn't!
lol - love the word mutancy!
