Insurance companies are now using incidents to bump up insurance quotes.We claimed for some storm damage last year,an assesor called and refused the claim. The company even had the nerve to put on the policy that they had paid us £500.We then paid to have the work done.When we moved companies this year the online price was hiked by 20% as we hadnt disclosed the incident. So just be aware before you think about reporting a claim as they are now the same.

No they are not the same - something has gone wrong here you need to get the insurer to explain what the £500 is for or delete it from your records. It may be their costs in investigating your claim.
