Unfortunately i was hit in the drivers rear wheel area by a large Scania lorry whilst on my way home this evening coming home.
It would appear the driver failed to see me in his left hand blind spot and pulled around a bend in the road across two lanes and into me.

Are there any insurance experts out there who can tell me how these sort of accidents normally pan out? Do insurance companies normally accept the lorry is at fault?
My insurers say it looks pretty clear cut no fault to them but i'm just worried the driver is going to try and weasle out of it somehow!!

To be honest, if a lorry is in the middle lane at a r/about it generally means he is going to turn either left or right.
They take a wider swing to turn as you can appreciate and i never drive alongside a lorry at a roundabout !
Saying that the lorry should have indicated and it would appear that he was not have seen you.
I have seen these types of claims go either way to be honest, speak to your insurance company.
I can't see how it could be construed as anything other than the lorry driver's fault. As it was a bend in the road (and not a roundabout as Harry has answered for), you had no way of knowing that he was changing lanes whether he was indicating or not (and you don't state whether he was or not). Even if you had, it would still be his fault.

Hi, it wasnt a roundabout.... it was a road on a one way system with three lanes all going to different places( so traffic needs to be in the correct lane)... and i was ahead of him!

Hi Chazza..

You're right, it was a bend. He didnt appear to be indicating.. he wasnt so much changing lane, as moving across to span both lanes as they narrow.
He had no choice but to span the two lanes due to the size of the vehicle, but i was already in the left lane when he did it..

He says i was overtaking, but i wasalready in the lane on the one way system that i had needed to be in, and had been in that lane from when the traffic lights turned green and we all moved off.
blimey kira, you are having bad luck this week!
