I am a lot older than you and have been driving many more years but my insurance does not cover me to drive abroad.

What does it say on your insurance policy?
As indicated by Ethel's reply, the only accurate answer will be that given by your insurance provider.
Yes it will, but you will need to read your policy carefully to find out what level of cover is available.

EU regulations require all motor insurance policies to provide the minimum level of cover required throughout the EU, which is just third party cover.

If you have a comprehensive insurance policy, some insurers will only provide third party cover, while others will still give you comprehensive cover.

Most will only cover you for personal use, which is usually sufficient, but your cover may be void if you are travelling for business purposes, and there is usually a limit on how long you are covered, eg. you may only have cover for a maximum of 90 days abroad.
