my wife managed to pick up 3 points for speeding in october, so we sent her license off with the payment and the license came back with the points on it hand written in blue ink. we moved house in december and sent both our licenses off to dvla to change address on them, they came back to our new address minus the points, so what is happening, i have not yet informed our car insurance company about the points and dont know whether i should now that her license has come back clean. any ideas?

the points still apply, it would appear that perhaps DVLA have not updated their records when rpinting out the new licence, however if it were to come to light you had not disclosed them (and the conviction only being 3 months old) this would invalidate your insurance
