Does anyone know any more about the proposed plan to enable employers to contribute up to 50 a week towards childcare costs (tax and national insurance free)? Will it be complusory or voluntary and how will it work? What is the benefit to employers?

This was referred to in the Chancellor's pre-budget report in December. It is a voluntary scheme, involving vouchers, and there is a tax advantage for employers. Thanks for that! I have forwarded them to our HR department to ask them whether they will consider it. Fingers crossed!
