just tried to change rear brake pads on my 53 plate vectra and i could not get the piston to go back in.
i undid the bleed nipple and nothing is there a special when

Take the cap off your brake fluid reservoir, (do not remove any bleed nipples) the piston should just push back in, it will be difficult given the pressure in the system (put the old pads in the caliper and put something between them to lever them apart)
make sure they don't wind back before trying to push them if the handbrake is on the caliper thy wind
just use a large screwdriver or something flat, lever it back in by pushing against the piston and the other side of the caliper. works for me everytime.
