Ford Fiesta airbag - how do i immobilise it?

How can i immobilise my passenger airbag in my 05 Ford Fiesta so that i can fit a child carrier car seat safely? If i cant do it does anyone know why i cant have a child in this type of carrier in the front? What would happen? He is 5 months old.

The reason you cannot have a child in a child seat in the front is because if you had an accident the air bag would save your life and kill your child.

Do you want that to happen, I hope you do not have a child there now.

I think, Toureman, that that's precisely the reason that pingu748 would like to deactivate the air bag. Some cars automatically deactivate it when a child seat is fitted.
