Motability Car Written Off?

We have a Motability car one year old. Today someone drove head on into us and it looks like the both cars will be written off. She ( the other driver) was on our side of the road and admits she did not see me as the Sun was in her eyes. Her insurance has sent me a text offering to cover all our costs and give us a free car , which I assume means they are accepting all responsibility. I took photos which prove she was on our side of the road and hit us head on.
How ever as it is a Motability car I have to go through them.
If our car is written off do Motability give us a brand new car or a 1 year old replacement? My wife has been taken to hospital with suspected neck / spine damage so it could be a big claim. I am just going to let Motability insurance handle it all and pass on the text message.

eddie, so sorry to hear of your troubles. the problem of course, is that your motability car was probably just set up for you and the way you like it/find it easier to use
How awful for you Eddie, can't answer your question wanted but I wish your wife well.
Eddie, this must have been a huge shock. I'm sure when you talk to motobility they will have dealt with many similar cases and they'll sort everything out for you.
You should get a new car along with a new 3 year lease from Motability, my mum did when hers was written off after my nephew and his friend rolled it down Beacon Fell.
During my 'trade plating' days, I delivered and collected lots of Motability vehicles and gained quite a bit of familiarity with the way that their systems work. (Which usually meant 'badly'!). I'd be surprised if they've got any mechanism for providing you with a one-year-old car; they'll probably find it simplest to provide a new one (which, based upon my experience, they'll send to the wrong address, with the wrong paperwork and at a time which you've told them isn't convenient for you!)

I hope that Mrs E51 is fully fit soon.
Buenchico, I'm delighted to report that things have moved on apace at Motability and have had experience of their flawless, nothing is too much trouble service.
Eddie, I hope you and Mrs Eddie recover soon. Just let them take care of everything.

Thanks people, so far the Motability insurance have been great, the recovery truck arrived with in 15 minutes !. They have promised me a 'emergency replacement' tomorrow for 48 hours while Motability sort out a permanent replacement. Wife still in hospital at the moment but not in danger, but she has been warned it will be very painful, I am getting a painful neck as well now so I may have to go to the doctor tomorrow. Will let you know what happens, but that is my 42 year accident free record broken now.
I'm sure Chris was trying to lighten eddies mod by injecting a little humour. Well, I'm giving him the BoTD anyway.

EDDIE, my best wishes to both you and Mrs E51 - hoping you recover well and quickly.

Re Motability, I agree with above, they will most likely start with a new vehicle.

Take care both ♥

Thanks methyl will start on it now , I have the time of the accident and the photos we in which I have already emailed to the police at their request. The officer has just phoned me to say he has the photos and they are in his report. Two police officers attended and I pointed out to them that my car was on the correct side of the road while the other one was on the wrong side (my side) I also put this in my statement.
