My daughter is due to travel to Paris next month to take part in a violin concert. She wil only be there for a couple of days and nights on a trip organised by her school sixth form.

I'm looking to insure her violin, worth in the region of £1K, for the nights she's in Paris against the usual stuff of theft, damage etc.

Does anyone know where I can open an insurance policy for the days she is in France? The school has been less than useful in suggesting possible methods of insurance and the widely advertised protectmybubble.com and similar companies provide cover for an annual period.

I'm trying to arrange something independant of my home contents policy.

Thank you.

Be careful - there's bound to be strings attached......
... or they may fear an insurance fiddle.

How much is an annual policy? It may be worth it if she travels around a few times
I used to look after school trips insurance and the school may/should have their own cover for this, part of which should be for this sort of thing. Worth a question!
