Today Martin O'Neill has resigned as Villa Manager, what a shame, was a great asset to Villa and a fellow Northern Irelander!

I think his hands were tied in the end oscarina, yes he is a great manager but I think the american owners want to make money at the expense of the club.

bad season ahead for villa now.

Not only the Board but it was whingeing Villa fans moaning at MON.Same Villa fans who moaned at Deadly Doug - despite the millions he spent on tranfer fees.
Villa fans have delusions about Top Four - dream on dudes - sorry but that is the brutal reality(and remember Spurs grabbed 4th place only because Liverpool had a freakishly bad season). Villa fans need to wake up and smell the coffee.
(And no i am not a Bluenose!)
no need for the venom tali, like most clubs villa have plastic fans, the genuine fans have supported MON and most of us understand the reasons why he may have left.

plastics can boo and shout, no doubt they have already pledged their allegience to the next big thing..
Tali.......No credit for Spurs grabbing a well deserved Champions League place there then?

I didn't realise it was Liverpool's divine right to always finish in the top 4? (They should get used to it cos I reckon Man City are certs to finish top 4 this season and Liverpool will be out of it again)
.....and as for O'Neill, what a selfish decision to make 5 days before the start of a new season
yeah, timing is crap, sh1t season lies ahead for villa

Rumour has it that he wasn't going to get the money from the proposed Milner transfer to strengthen the team

But he's worked under financial constraints ever since he's been manager, so why would this season have been any different?

If it was my club I'd be well hacked off with Mr Selfish O'Neill
Im annoyed at the timing, not sure the details but randy lerner wanted to sell ashley young to spurs as well and pocket the money with no new signings. maybe MON has taken it as far as he can take it?

either way lerner is more interested in making money than boosting the club, its stinks it really does

Butch....O'Neill has no need to wait for the sack and his payoff cos he's a top boss and plenty of clubs will want him when they need a new boss
The timing is very surprising but O'Neill hasn't been happy at the Vanilla for a while.
The Milner transfer saga and rumours about Ashley Young going have obviously tipped him over the edge.
Bob Bradley is the strong rumour to take over at Seal Park.
not impressed..

Butch.....why do you think that?

That I'm 'talking out of my arrse"

O'Neill took a year out of the game between managing Celtic and Villa so he obviously doesn't need to be constantly in a job financially wise

Or do you have a hotline to Mr O'Neill's and Mr Lerner's offices and can tell us the true story?

So O'Neill was cheating on John Robertson then?
