i think this is almost impossible to answer because there are too many variants.wetness/type of fabric/machine size/ electrical output etc.

we find normally with a full load ours takes about 1 hour

we found it usually used up roughly 5 of electric per hour it was on

i would say that 5 a time is a bit high. My electricity is on a meter where i have to buy electricity in advance and i buy 10 a week and i have my tumble dryer on for at least two hours a night.

Plus my washing machine, dishwasher and all my other appliances.

Crikey, 5 an hour!!  To work out how much your dryer will cost you to run, you need to find out how much electricity the dryer consumes (measured in kilowatts per hour this should be in the instruction guide) and how much you are paying for your electricity per kilowatt.  For instance, if your dryer is rated at 4 kwh, which I think is average for a tumble dryer (i.e. it is using 4kwh of electricity every hour it is on), and you are paying 13p for each kilowatt (Ive used 13p because I know my elec costs around this), then your dryer will cost you 52p each hour it is running (4 x 13p).
Bl!mey, If my tumble dryer cost me 5 an hour to run, I'd scrap it & go back to a clothes horse!

Find out how many watts it's rated at. If it's 1kw (1000w) it will use one unit of electricity per hour (1kwh). I kwh usually costs less than 10p but your electricity bill should tell you.

If higher or lower than 1000w proportionally review your answer to suit. i.e. 2kwh = 20p per hour

Thanks for the info .. unfortunately I can't find any power ref on the paperwork - will have to go surfing to find out ..
To get an idea, you need to know the power output of it and the cost per unit of electricity your electricity company charges. Then it is simple maths, but the amount of washing and wetness will affect this......
