I'm trying to find out how Mahayana Buddhists meditate and why they meditate. Have found out about Theravada meditation but can't seem to find anything about Mahayana. Know that this tradition covers many schools of Buddhism, e.g. Zen and Tibetan so maybe an overall summary isn't available but any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks Chris! Did a bit more research after asking this question and I think I was right in thinking that there isn't an overall summary so have explained this in my assignment and given Zen meditation as one example, thanks again!
I thoroughly approve of meditation - it's much better than sitting around doing nothing.
