How much should it cost for a cam belt for a 2004 Volkswagen Polo 1.4. I rang a motor parts supplier and they told me £15 but I am now thinking that they thought I said FAN belt not CAM belt?
Thanks

About right for a cambelt . But I would always buy a kit with the tensioners etc
Totally as above. ' Cambelt kit ' is required.
As your replies states, but there are Belts & there are belts! If the dealer said it has to be a Genuine VW take that as BULL SHt, providing the belt and tension are fitted at the same time & warranted you have no problem, If you intend to get the job done use a local SMALL garage, they will not charge the earth at the same time get the fan belt done at the same time.
Get your parts from GSF (used to be German & Swedish) or Euro Car Parts ...
Take the German parts if there is option.
Euro .. 80 quid for the kit. What people don't realise is that this engine uses 2 cambelts. One main, and one link, also pulleys.
