Right, further to a previous question about the various merits or otherwise of a 70s Porsche 911 against and 2-3 yr old Merc CLK 230, I've decided that luxury and reliability (and two extra seats) is the way forward and am going to plump for the Merc (although probably in 320 form as this is has the V6 and the 230 doesn't). Next question - best (ie cheapest) insurer? Currently with Tesco and am increasingly disillusioned with them. I'm 27, male, live in the centre of London and have 3 points. Not ideal. Suggestions gratefully received.

I know what you mean about Tesco. Have a look at www.screentrade.co.uk

Try www.elephant.co.uk They will quote you onjline.

Saved me over 200 when I insured my Audi A6 V6 with them. And that's with an SP30. Let me know how you get on.

I recommend Churchill. Been cheapest by far every year for about 10 years - although Direct Line got closer than usual this year, but wanted a Tracker fitting otherwise they wouldn't insure me Needless to say I stayed with the dog..
I have just started working for ASDA Insurance who are underwritten by Norwich Union. As long as car is under 50,000 should be OK. What problems have you had with Tesco ??
