My local Tesco has a box by the Customer Services desk for Britta ones.

Ask at the Customer services desk and see what they do.

Lob them in the Brita box at Tescos.

If they can't cope with them no one else will, but you will have done your best.

(Brita probably put them in landdfill anyway, but put boxes out to make us feel all good and green)

Brita have boxes all over the place, they are in Argos, Boots, Robert Dyas I think, and Tesco
