Why don't the flames inside my gas oven alter when I adjust the regulo control, and is it easy and cheap to fix? (4 days before Xmas too!) Thanx in advance.

Are the flames stuck at minimum or maximum or something in between?
I hope I'm not trying to teach my grandmother to suck eggs, here. They'll only go down when the oven's reached the required temperature setting.
seajaypea is correct give it time to regulate the temp
Or,if the flames stay low all the time and do not increase then the sensor, a little bulb just above the flame has moved away from the flame. Check it with a torch and the oven OFF.Push it back and try the oven again

Sorry for delay to say thanx for your replies. The flame starts off low and even then doesn't . Don't know about a bulb. It's a Leisure 2100 Sterling out of the ark, but everything else is ok. Do you know if it's worth trying to get someone to sort it?. Looks like I'll be using my old chip pan on Christmas Day. Ecky bloomin' thump!
when you turn on the oven the small pilot flame plays on a piece of metal, shaped like a bulb or cylinder. the heat causes a liquid inside the bulb to move and open a bellows to turn on the mainoven flame
paddiez is asking to check if the "bulb" or thermostat phial and sensing tube has shifted out of position or might be damaged and the flame cannot reach it to warm it up.
if it is in position then it requires further investigation by an experienced person to sort it out
good luck with it
