Mine is the same,I keep meaning to take it in to a registered Dyson dealer to be seviced. Our local shop only charges 15.00 for it and that is much cheaper than buying a new one!
unscrew the baseplate and all sorts of crap will probably fall out :o) it gets blocked in one particular area.

that's what happened to mine, anyway.

How did you know to do that then Sara ;)
my mate Chuck told me :o)

to be fair, I had tried but couldn't find the third screw, which was hidden from view, so I gave up.. as I do!

So I need to unscrew things?! I am a bit wary about doing stuff like that, it's not one of my strongest points fixing things! I will have a go later though, thanx all.
unplug it first!

it's really very easy. on mine I could see 2 screws which came off easily. I couldn't work out why the plate didn't come off, but my mate Chuck ↑ told me off and said there was a 3rd screw under one of the wheels.

he's always right, is Chuck!

Thats great thanks, but mine is not an upright cleaner...
well thats bu$$ered all previous answers then :)

What model is it?
is it one of those squatty ones with the long hose?

It's all very easy.

First check for a blocked hose. Not switched on, disconnect the hose from the dyson (it's only clipped on). Then turn on. If it sucks in as it should, blockage is defo in the hose some where. If not, disasssemlbe bits inside (filter, etc) see if anything blocking there. if so clear it.

Right the hose. Remove whatever head you have on, and try it on again. If it's OK,blockage is in the head, if not, plockage is in the hose. Run water from tap thru hose if it is until clear.

If it's the head, unscew at the bottom - need a long necked philips probably. Take bottom part off, and just clear any that needs clearing.

If you have a rotating brush on it, leave assembled - I can't advise on this as I have never had cause to remove it.
