Does anyone know anything about door locks?

I have a metal door on the side of my garage. The key will only turn half way and the lock will not release. The fact that it turns half way is frustrating because if it was the wrong key, it wouldn't turn at all. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Try giving it a blast of WD 40. Same problem a few days ago and that did it.
What sort of lock? What sort of metal door?
Do you lift the handles before locking? Is the lock below a handle or apart from any handles?
If it's an old ally door with mortice lock the lever springs often fail, try turning the key then use both fists to pummel the door so shaking the levers down.
Let me know what area you are in and I can recommend a locky.

All decent lockies around Manchester.
Sounds like the internal mech has failed but it might just be a cylinder problem.
