Does any one know how to get rid of the word oil that appears where my tripometer is when I start my car.The manual says it is when I am due for an oil change and the Audi specialist will reset it, I can change my own oil but I don't know how to reset the alarm

This wont help, but that is exactly why Audi do this. yes, they know you can change the oil, yes they know that any garage can change the oil, but if only Audi engineers have the correct software to reset the service alarms, the you are forced to go back to an audi dealer for even the simplest of jobs. Net result - more money for Audi. Sorry to be such a cynic, but there is no other reason.
