Laptop Help

In Comet they have a
Compaq 15 . 2 SL - 42 for �379.99 could anyone tell me if this is ok or the
Emachines 15.4 M575

Im looking for a Laptop from Comet about �360 ish if anyone knows of one if the ones above are no good

I have been on the comet web site and using the information supplied cannot find either machine.

There is no Compaq at �379.99. The only laptop at 379.99 is a Toshiba.

And I cant find an eMachines M575

Give us a bit more information to help us find them, or a direct link.

Just noticed the COMPAQ CQ60-307EA/SA is �359.99 (with �20 off so normally sells at �379.99), I guess you mean that.

This has a very slow Sempron CPU so dont even go there.

For �379 or �359 you can get a better CPU than that.

Just found this eMachine laptop with a M575 CPU (I thought M575 was the laptop number) -
EMACHINES EME525-902G16MI

This has a pretty poor Celeron CPU, so again try to avoid.

Mind you the laptop is around �330 so you are the low end of laptop prices.

Had a look at all their laptops between �300 and �400 and most of them are not that great.

The first decent one is this Acer if you can stretch to that (�384)

An Athlon Dual Core CPU (not a great one though) and 4Gb of memory.

But still Vista Home Basic, and the hard disk is not that big.

I guess you have a reason for buying at Comet, but too be honest I think you can get a better deal elsewhere.

None of them between �300 and �400 are that good. Most come with either Celeron or Sempron CPUs, and most have Vista Home Basic.

For between �350 and �400 you can get a better laptop than any of these.
