I recently bought a 2001 model of the Honda HRV 4 x 4 and wish to know how it swiches from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive automatically. I understand that it should take place when one wheel looses traction but is there a way of testing it does function other than waiting to see if it works. I imagine it would be tested at a garage qualified to service this model but wondered if it was possible to check myself. I can't see any sign of an indicator light on the dashboard either which would tell me when it operated. Your help is appreciated. Tel

This may be better in the "motoring" section.

Or "cars" under motoring.
just try to wheel spin it on gravel or similar, you should easily be able to feel if the drive is going to the rear.
