trying to remove faulty chuck from power drill. Seems to be secured by a philips screw in middle of open jaws. Does it have a left hand or right hand thread cos I don`t want to strip the thread if i use another power tool on it. It`s jammed solid. Thanks in advance.

I would imagine it would be a normal thread (clockwise to tighten) as if it were the other way round, the chuck could gradually loosen itself each time it was used to drill.
Having just purchased a new Bosch cordless drill, I noticed that in the instructions it described the chuck removal screw as having a left hand thread. This was highlighted in bold text For obvious reasons. This is not to say yours has of course. Good luck!!
