If I uninstall Word and reinstall it, will I lose any data? Further to a previous thread, I have lost my usual list of fonts and when I get the drop down menu I have different words in sort of boxes ! Hard to explain but something has gone wrong somewhere. Also sometimes very slow to open Word. I have winows XP. I just don't want to lose everything I have saved. Thanks all.

You should be able to repair the Word installation. Put the install disk in and it will ask you what you want to do. Repair should be one of the options. It just check the integrity of the files and reinstalls any damaged ones.

Your doc files won't be affected.
reinstalling word will probably make no difference to your fonts. as everyone said in your previous thread.

To check though, click start > all programs > accessories > wordpad

And see if the fonts are listed in wordpad.

If they are not then reinstalling word won't fix your problem as it's a general font problem, in which case download tweakUI from microsoft (link in your other thread) and use that to repair your font folder.
