HD on freeview

Hi guys, ive got freeview , but if and when will they be transmitting programmes in HD, or would it be worth getting freesat instead .

They will probably start transmitting some HD stuff in 2012

At the moment there is not enough available bandwidth to transmit HD as they are still running the normal terrestrial TV, once that's switched off the extra bandwidth that is freed up will allow HD be broadcast on freeview
not something I know much about - I thought that the reason freesat kicked off was that because terrestrial transmitts in Mhz it couldn't handle the digital sample slotrate HD signals need (PCM and all that)

BBC HD is a free-to-air high definition channel available on satellite and cable. It features a wide range of programmes from across the other BBC channels. At the moment BBC HD broadcasts for four hours a day between 8pm and midnight, with extended coverage for live events such as Wimbledon and Glastonbury.
