Hi, yesterday my iPod video 80gb 5th gen got dropped.....in the toilet _ seriously don't ask..anyway.. we blowdried it, and the screen dimmed, it kept short circuiting, so the next day i opened it, the inside is dry but the metal back was slightly wet inside but i don't think that effected anything, but now when i try and start it nothing happens, its just got this permanent apple logo on the screen, is it the battery? and have i lost any data? thanks

before or after flush??

No actually I'm not sure I want to know!!!

wrap it in tissue and place in the airing cupboard, or other warm dry place for at least 24hrs and try again

If it doesn't work put back and leave for another 24, if it still don't work then it's probably dead

You may still be able to get the data off the drive but post about that when your sure it's never going to live again.
I've heard of whistle while you work .... was this rap while you cr@p?

you'll get a quicker dry if you wrap it and then cover it in table salt - give it another blow before you cover it.

I'd say leave it 2 days .... and stop switching the bl@@dy thing on ... it's current that's doing the damage (although I understand why you wouldn't want to touch it)

while you are waiting - consider these two statements
>>but i don't think that effected anything,
>>but now when i try and start it nothing happens
:-(
was this rap while you cr@p?
