Iam running XP home using Windows Media Player 11 i can rip music from CDs but when i try to burn i get the message CONNECT A BURNER AND RESTART THE PLAYER.How do i do this?

I'm going to ask the stupid and obvious question to get it out the way.. You have got a CD burne (writer) in your computer haven't, not just a normal CD reader?

Yes i have Nero 7 and Ashampoo Burning Studio 6

Does your cd drive, which you put the disk into, burn cds? Is it a cd writer or just a cd reader?

Yes Ethel i have two writers both of which are working
Do you have a roxio software installed, it's known to interfere with WMP11 so if you do try removing it and see if WMP11 works then

if not you may have to roll back to WMP10 as there seems to be several issues with 11 at the moment that seem to stop the burning working

Hello again chuckfickens wmp10 installed message now says "no cd or dvd burner as been detected press F5 to refresh. I can burn with itunes and copy disc to disc. Any more suggestions would be appreciated. i thank you for your patience but i'm the guy who takes something with 4 parts to bits and has 1 left over when i put it together, can lift a tonne but can't spell it.You know the sort
