Just recently I have been unable to print any downloaded or scanned PDF documents. I get a box from Adobe Reader "Unable to start print job. Is printer available?" I can print documents in other formats. Any ideas?

check that you have a default printer set up on your PC. if so then check the settings on the Print Setup page of Adobe. Ensure that the printer connected to your PC is set correctly here.
pdfs is wierd 'fings ... and adobe is a wierd 'fing in it's own right.

unless you have specialist needs ... I'd personally bin the adobe reader ... and download the free (and easy) Foxit reader
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php

adobe 90MB ... foxit a single stand alone 2MB file ... and I'm still trying to find any difference ... at least with standard day to day documents.
(OK so you have to open files on the web instead of having the viewer integrated with IE - which takes at leas two seconds longer !!)
and if you use PDFs which are protected with exotic plugins ... that won't work ... but otherwise ... no problemo.
you can install allongside adobe ... and use it to see if it prints ok

If you must use adobe ... get the latest version ... uninstall yours, reboot then reinstall the new.
