Hi,
The only way to record subs on a DVD HDD recorder is to switch subs to ON using the handset button when setting the recording. They are then recorded onscreen and cannot be turned off.
This is where PVRs differ from DVD recorders as a PVR records the transport stream and decoding is done on playback ( you can switch subs on and off as required )whereas a dvd recorder decodes the transport stream before recording so you need to enable subs before recording the prog. Hope this helps a bit.
